After reporting on August 18th the women's soccer team has successfully navigated through the two-a-day training sessions, through the wear and tear on their bodies and is ready to kick off the season tonight!
Although the match tonight against Earlham, 4:30 pm kick off, is technically only a scrimmage it will offer the Crusaders their first taste of action in the 2011 season! It will also mark their first competition on the brand new turf of Bernlohr stadium!
Check back tomorrow for updates from the scrimmage and the first additions to our Capital Women's Soccer You Tube page!!!

Crusaders hit the track with NASCAR
July 7,8 & 9 mark the first ever NASCAR series races at the Kentucky Motor Speedway and the Capital Women's Soccer team was there! Groups of players, parents and friends went down to the speedway and helped serve as tour guides in order to help raise money for the program. Their participation covered the Truck race on Thursday evening, the Nationwide series race on Friday evening and the 117,000 seat sell out NASCAR race on Saturday evening. Overall it was a great event for our team and helped us take one more step towards success in 2011.

Welcome to the coaching staff Dre and Chris!
"Dre" will join the staff working primarily with the Goalkeepers. "We are very fortunate to have a dedicated coach to work with our goalkeepers... Dre played for me at Cincinnati and has a ton of experience as a player in the Big East at the NCAA Division I level and as a coach with Soccer Plus Goalkeeping Schools" said Chris Kouns.
Chris is coming on board to work with the entire team as well as coach the reserve team games this fall. "I had the opportunity to watch Chris coach for two weeks when I instructed his National D License course and was very impressed. Although he is currently coaching with the NCAA Division I Marshall University men's soccer program he has a tremendous demeanor and communication style to help female student-athletes maximize their potential" said Kouns.
Along with Dre and Chris there will most likely be one more assistant added to the coaching staff prior to the fall... which will offer the players four different personalities and communication styles to help them unlock their potential!
