Megan comes to us via Roselle, Illinois, where she enjoyed a very successful career at the high school level (Lake Park HS) as well as at the club level (Sockers FC ECNL ). She is transferring into Capital as a sophomore after completing her freshman year playing for NCAA Division I Kent State University in 2013.
A few of Megan's high school accomplishments include being a four (4) year varsity soccer letter winner and a team captain both her Junior and Senior years at Lake Park. Although she missed a portion of her Junior year with a knee injury Megan finished her Lake Park career having led the Lancers to both an Illinois Regional and Sectional Championships. Individually Megan earned multiple Upstate Elite Conference honors, as well as, both Illinois All-Sectional and State honors, while setting Lake Park Soccer school records for: Most Goals in a Season, Most Points in a Season, Most Goals in a Career and Most Points in a Career. Megan also finished off her career being honored by the Daily Herald as an Athletic Scholar for her Senior year.
In terms of her club accomplishments Megan enjoyed a tremendous career as the captain for the Chicago Sockers FC ECNL. Megan's Sockers team won two (2) US Club Soccer Regional Championships representing Illinois in the US Soccer Region II Championships. She led the Sockers to several Illinois State Cup finals, Nike Cup Tournament Championships and was moved up to the oldest age group to participate in the US Club Soccer National Cup and Manchester United Cup Championships for the Sockers.
According to Coach Kouns "We are very excited that Megan decided to join our family and can not wait for her to arrive on campus in August. Megan offers us tremendous leadership and experience. She is going to instantly make us a more dangerous team due to her intelligence as a soccer player and ability to finish."
